Join us as we create an instant series of tiny, one-of-a-kind artist's books. We'll combine bits of wonderful paper, offcuts, and abandoned art, to create a varied series of baseball card sized zines. Participants will take turns at stations dedicated to book-building, drawing, creative writing, stamping, and collage. Then, when our time is up, we'll launch our new flight of zines by sharing a few of our favorites in a mini-reading. Then we'll load the zines into our beautiful vending machine, where they'll be available to Paper Arts customers for 25 cents a pop!
The collaboration will be led by Lisa Huffaker, founder of White Rock Zine Machine. It is offered free of charge, but we ask that participants bring an offering of interesting papers for our cause. Check your broom closets and desk drawers for "used art" (offcuts, experiments gone awry...), beautiful candy wrappers, old envelopes (especially with stamps attached!), fortune cookie prophesies, stylish Kleenex boxes, parking violations, doodles, geometry homework, wrapping paper... anything to add to our stash!
